Abstract:
The paper is devoted to the theoretical investigation of spatiotemporal dynamics of large aperture class B lasers. The linear stability analysis of spatially homogeneous generation is carried out. It is shown that in such lasers the wave instability is realized, the bifurcation diagrams are constructed. The numerical simulation of spatiotemporal dynamics of the laser confirms the linear analysis results. The nonlinear stage of development of the perturbation demonstrates switching between different spatial modes.

Key words:
large aperture lasers, transverse instability, Maxwell-Bloch equations.
