Abstract:
We discuss the simulation of a hyperspectrometer based on the use of linear variable filters. The possibility of recovery of the image spectral pixels through the solution of the integral equation is considered. Estimates of the scattering spot size as a function of the spectral filter parameters are obtained. The numerical results show that a significant deterioration in resolution occurs only in the case of short-focus optical systems.

Key words:
hyperspectrometer, linear variable filters (LVF), layered medium, Maxwell's equations.
