Abstract:
The paper considers a spontaneous reproduction of the field after zone plates on the basis of a comparative theoretical and experimental study of the Talbot effect for transparent linear and uniform ring gratings. The features associated with both the shape and the period of groves are revealed. The paper shows that the quality of self-image of the gratings is determined by the boundaries of the region of spatial frequencies reproduced in the image. The article presents the experimental results of visualization of phase objects using a Talbot interferometer on zone plates.
