Abstract:
The paper reviews some of the scientific, applied and organizational issues of analyzing and processing of space images of the Earth produced by remote sensing spacecrafts. The results of solving the tasks of modeling a video information path, creating a software system for images pre-processing, developing compression and filtering algorithms, using space images in geographic information applications are described. The scientific, educational and industrial activities related to obtaining and processing of space images in the Samara region are characterized.
