Method for controlling maximum compression error

Abstract:
This paper presents a method for controlling maximum reconstruction error that can be used together with any other well-known image compression methods. The method is analyzed for the case of its application together with the standard compression methods JPEG and JPEG2000. The research results have shown that the method can significantly reduce maximum image reconstruction error while maintaining a compression ratio.
