Abstract:
The simulation of the distorting effect of wave aberrations on the image in coherent and incoherent cases is implemented. It is shown that the defocusing can be compensated by using not only the cubic phase distribution, but also with other types of asymmetric phase functions, including fractional power. In the latter case apodization of imaging system provides a smooth character of optical transfer function, which can be useful for recovery the encoded image.

Key words:
imaging system, coherent and incoherent radiation, increasing the focal depth, the asymmetric phase distribution.
