Abstract:
We have defined the problem of designing the diffractive optical beam splitters as the problem of minimizing the quality function, and defined this function accordingly, thus we were able to optimize the profile of the period of the diffraction grating splitting the incident light beam by the orders of equal intensity up to 42 orders, with a quality function less than 10-24. An experimental study of the designed samples showed that the spread in the intensities of the operating orders of a 12-beam splitter is 6% with the significant manufacturing errors (up to 25%) as compared with the width of the narrowest groove of the grid.
