Abstract:
In this paper we consider optical-digital systems for identifying fingerprints by the spatial spectrum
and by the directional field. We suggest an optical scheme of a coherent correlator with a spatial
filter consisting of segmented diffraction gratings for the design of the directional field. We show
that the analysis by the directional field is more preferable. We also show that in the analysis of
fingerprints by the Fourier spectrum, only the information on the angular distribution of the spectrum
is significant, and the data on the radial spectrum allocation are redundant.
