Abstract:
TThe year 1998 marked the 5th anniversary of the Image Processing Systems Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IPSI RAS). In 1998, the Department of Technical Cybernetics of the Samara State Aerospace University also celebrated its 20th anniversary. In 1988, the scientific group of the Departmentof Technical Cybernetics laid groundworkfor the Samara branch of the Central Design Bureau of Unique Instrumentation of RAS, later it became a basis for the IPSI RAS, which wasformed as part of the Department of Informatics, Computer Engineering and Automation of the Russian Academy of Sciences. This article attempts to review the activities of the IPSI RAS research team over ten years of work as an institution of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
