Laser method of early cancer diagnosis

Abstract:
A compact diagnostic complex for non-destructive diagnostics of the condition of biological objects has been created on the basis of a semiconductor laser with a radiation wavelength of 0.63 - 0.68 microns and a fiber-optic laser system. The paper investigates the peculiarities of the process of backscattering of low-intensity laser radiation by dense biological tissues with different optical density and a liquid biological medium when the scattering centers are formed in it. The work reveals the sensitivity of the laser method to the registration of characteristic areas on the human body and their condition, and shows the general possibility of using this method for the diagnosis of cancerous tumors.
