Abstract:
The authors have developed a mathematical model that describes the formation of spatial and temporal characteristics of the reflected laser signal in the areas with the surface layer defects, depending on the damage type. The paper introduces dimensionless parameters of the measurement process for detecting the surface damage, that allow to identify the energy correspondence of the sounding signals to the geometric parameters of the surface defects and to identify clearly the pattern of damage. The paper proves the necessity of surface scanning at two different angles of radiation incidence.
