Abstract:
The paper proposes a highly efficient iterative procedure for the design of diffractive optical elements (DOEs) to form generalized Laguerre-Gaussian modes from an illuminating Gaussian beam. The iterative procedure is based on dividing the observation plane into “useful” and “auxiliary” radial areas. The application of a fast procedure for calculating the Hankel transform allows to design elements with a real number of counts without using high-performance computing technology. Based on the results of a computational experiment, it is shown that the proposed approach allows to design elements that form a given single-mode distribution with higher energy efficiency as compared to the existing analogs calculated analytically. The paper discusses the possible applications and appropriate production technologies for the elements designed using the proposed procedure .
