Abstract:
This paper develops an approach to increasing the efficiency of excitation of gradient waveguide
modes using diffractive optical elements (DOEs) in the problems of multiplexing fiber-optic communication
channels, considered in [1]. A modification of the iterative algorithm [2] is proposed,
which allows to significantly increase the efficiency of generation of the target mode composition
and, at the same time, to avoid pulse broadening due to intermode dispersion [3] in each communication
channel. The paper introduces a concept of an invariant mode package - a special amplitudephase
distribution with particular properties of laser radiation modes. The article presents the results
of computational experiments on the design and simulation of diffractive optical elements that form
invariant mode packages in the target diffraction orders, as well as on the propagation of the generated
beams through the Fourier cascade .
