Abstract:
Quasiperiodic images account for a significant part of images arising in real image processing tasks. Examples of quasi-periodic images are interferogram, crystallogram, fingerprint images. Important parameters of such images are the predominant direction of the stripes and their frequency at each point of the image. A field of instantaneous values of frequency of bands at a particular point will be referred to as a frequency field. An efficient algorithm for its construction is described below, based on the preliminary detection of the extremum points of the brightness function.
